Welcome to the Laboratory for Extracurricular Activities across Development (LEAD Lab)!

Director: Dr. Casey A. Knifsend

Our lab aims to understand how school and extracurricular contexts can be structured to affect academic and psychosocial well-being, spanning childhood to emerging adulthood. In studying contextual factors affecting well-being, we focus on both structured extracurricular programming (e.g., sports teams or after-school programs) and interactions within these types of settings, including peer-to-peer and student-teacher interactions. We strive to take an equity-minded approach to our research and to our community-based projects.
